What happens at an implant consultation at Park Road Dental?

An implant consultation should help you understand your choices, not leave you feeling that you have already committed to treatment.

At Park Road Dental in Cheltenham, the implant consultation package includes the consultation, CBCT imaging, a digital scan and photographs. The fee is $250 without health-fund cover, or gap-free with health-fund cover. Implant treatment is quoted separately. Contact the team before your visit to confirm how your cover applies to the consultation.

Your questions are an important part of the appointment. You may want to replace a tooth that has been missing for years, understand a recent extraction or compare an implant with another option.

Start with what matters to you

Tell us what you would like to change and what concerns you. That could be eating on one side, the appearance of a gap, managing a removable denture, the cost of treatment or anxiety about a procedure.

It is also useful to explain practical constraints. If you have travel planned or limited time away from work, raise that early rather than assuming treatment can be completed by a particular date.

Bring your health information

Bring a current medication list and any relevant dental records you already have. Let the dentist know about medical conditions, previous treatment and smoking. Understand the plan, not just the scans

• What you would have in the gap during treatment, if applicable.

Ask what the treatment quote includes

The consultation fee and implant treatment fee are different. When reviewing your proposed treatment, ask whether the quote includes the implant, connector and final restoration, and whether other items are needed in your case.
