About Park Road Dental
Park Road Dental is a three-chair general, cosmetic and implant practice at 155 Park Road, Cheltenham VIC 3192, serving the Bayside area including Mentone, Highett, Moorabbin and Beaumaris. The practice has cared for the community since the 1970s and was acquired in early 2025 by Dr James Lee and Dr Harold Lee, who now own and operate it. Our AHPRA-registered team includes principal dentists Dr Harold Lee and Dr James Lee, dentists Dr Dayana Gonzalez and Dr Wei Hun Tjio, and hygienists Shirani Marks and Liz Fetherstonhaugh. We offer CEREC same-day crowns, full-arch implants, guided implant surgery and 3D CBCT imaging, with digital planning done in-house.
Treatments and how they work
Can I get a crown in one day?
Yes. We use CEREC with a Primescan digital scanner to design, mill and fit a ceramic crown in a single visit, so most crowns need no temporary and no second appointment. We take a 3D scan instead of a putty impression, then bond the finished crown the same day.
How much do dental implants cost?
The cost depends on how many teeth are being replaced, the condition of your jawbone and the materials used, so a single implant differs from a full-arch case. After a consultation with 3D imaging we give you a clear, written quote. All major health funds are accepted and claimed on the spot.
What is the dental implant process?
First we assess your bone and health and plan the position with a CBCT scan. The titanium implant is then placed under local anaesthetic, left to bond with the bone for about three to six months, and finally restored with a custom crown, bridge or denture made in-house.
What is guided implant surgery?
Guided surgery uses a 3D CBCT scan to plan the exact position and angle of each implant on a computer, then a custom surgical guide places the implant precisely as planned. This makes placement more accurate, more predictable and typically less invasive than freehand surgery.
Do you offer clear aligners or braces?
Yes. We offer clear aligners and braces to straighten crowded, gapped or crooked teeth. We take a digital scan and photos, then discuss which option suits your case, how long treatment is likely to take and what is involved before you decide to start.
Does a root canal hurt?
Root canal treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic, so it should feel much like having a filling and is designed to relieve the pain of an infected tooth rather than cause it. Some tenderness afterwards is normal for a few days and usually settles with simple pain relief.

Can I see an emergency dentist today?
If you have a toothache, a broken tooth, swelling or a knocked-out tooth, phone (03) 9584 4949 as early as you can and we will aim to see you the same day. We keep time for urgent care and are open six days, including Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.
What should I do if a tooth is knocked out?
Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root, and if it is dirty rinse it gently in milk or saline. If you can, place it back in the socket; otherwise keep it in milk and phone us straight away. Fast treatment gives the best chance of saving a knocked-out adult tooth.
Children, health funds and new patients
Do you treat children, and do you accept the CDBS?
Yes, we welcome children and families. Eligible children can be bulk-billed under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), a Medicare scheme that helps cover check-ups, cleans, fillings and more. Bring your Medicare card and we can check eligibility and any remaining balance for you.
Which health funds do you accept?
All major Australian health funds are accepted and claimed on the spot, so if you have dental extras cover you can claim your rebate at the practice and pay only the gap. You do not need to be with a particular fund to be seen at Park Road Dental.

Hours, parking and location
What are your opening hours and is there parking?
We are open Monday and Tuesday 8am to 6pm, Wednesday and Thursday 8am to 8pm, Friday 8am to 5:30pm and Saturday 8:30am to 12pm, and closed Sunday. That is six days a week, including late evenings and Saturday mornings. On-site parking is available at 155 Park Road, Cheltenham.
